  • Went to Herrs Factory Tour with kids - got to see potato chips being made. I must watch too much 'How It's Made' and 'Unwrapped' because I started explaining to my kids how the optical sensor system works to flush out bad chips and realized the guide was looking at me so she could start the same explanation.
  • Rant about other drivers - car hit twice in the parking lot. No damage, but the audacity of some people.

  • Working on big project with Digital signage [RICH]
- Haven't really started to dig into it much yet. But company has to make a decision on the product to install.
- After looking at it for a while not really sure what all the fus is about
- Creating menu's is crating menu's
- Kind of interesting how it works and I think we may end up building in more network redundanc for it than for our backoffice network
- and I alway slove all the conference calls
- Seems like the future of technology in my industry is a lot of inter communications.
- Menu boards linke to POS linked to game stastics application ect..
- EU's don't have any clue with this new technology what they want.
- Client does have a clear solution as to what they want as they are looking to interact with this but haven't done it yet.

-Not just about certifications. What are ways that you use to get training on the cheap?
-Vendors/resellers are a great resource; Many of mine have free tech seminars in conjunction with the software/hardware vendor.
-The hardware/software vendor themselves can provide a lot of free training via their website, webinars, etc.
-Peers are a great opportunity. Ask a friend/co-worker who has a skill set in another area to cross-train with you.
-Podcast/videocasts. Self-serving for sure to include this, but there are many great training podcasts for technology. Some from the vendor as well.
