Interview with Beth Lynn Eicher
Tonight we are joined by Beth Lynn Eicher, a devoted Linux systems administrator who is involved with the Ohio LinuxFest which is being held Sept 25 through Sept 27, 2009 in Columbus, OH. Beth Lynn is also an avid Linux advocate and maintains the blog What will we use? which discusses the decline of Microsoft's market share over the coming years as competition from Free/Open Source Software gains ground.
Welcome to the show Beth Lynn.
- You are also actively involved with LOPSA. What can you tell us about that?
- What attracted you to focus on Linux in your career?
- You supported Linux at the Carnegie Mellon School Of Computer Science; what can you tell us about your time there.
- Distro's; are they a help or a hindrance to Linux adoption?
- Where do you think Linux will ultimately end up in the enterprise?
- It's no secret the IT is a male dominated field; what is it like for a female to work in IT?
Reminder that Ohio LinuxFest? will be held September 25th through September 27th, 2009 in Columbus, OH at the Columbus Convention Center. Basic attendance is free, but there are several affordable packages that help support their efforts and maybe get you a little schwag. Register online at OhioLinux.org.
