____________________________PLAY APPLE UNIVERSE PROMO____________________________

Things you wish they made that you wish you found in your Christmas stocking:

KEITH

  • Apple iPod Touch with 160GB hard drive
-Why not? I don't care if it is a little fatter, make it capable of holding my whole collection. Especially video with that screen!
-I talked about this before. I see this converging. I want it to converge now though.
  • Portable USB/Firewire HDD enclosure w/RAID
-Small enclosure with two 2.5"HDD in RAID 1. By their portable nature, these things take abuse. This would give you some peace of mind.

RICH

  • I want a cell phone that fits in my hand nicely but I still find useful to browse the internet with. Maybe projecting images against a flat service or something. It would also be great if it could communicate with and be my source of credit payment.

STEVE

  • IP TV
-Everything on demand, anywhere you can get broadband internet. I really want to be able to watch what I want, when, and where I want on any device I choose.

Things you can buy now that you wish you found in your Chrismas stocking:

KEITH

  • iMac 23"
-
  • Firewire to IDE Cable/converter
-Need this to get an external burner working for the iBooks.

RICH

  • XO Laptop
-Is this a surprise?
  • New Digital SLR Camera, I like Nikon but would like to read consumer reports fist to the pro and cons.
  • Digital Picture Frame. One that can accept various types of media cards.

STEVE

-I would love to have a Mac, I just don't want to spend the money
  • Technet Subscription
-I love the access to additional software and licenses

  • Cisco opening up IOS [STEVE]

By Jim Duffy, Network World, 12/12/07

-"Cisco's plan to open up its venerable IOS routing software to customers and third-party developers is a bold move designed to further the company's push to make the network the epicenter of the virtual data center."
-I'm eager to see what they do, but there is no timeline published.
-Could this mean PowerShell Cmdlets to manage IOS? :)

-Not to Microsoft Bash - But this is a fact
-
-Open Source ticketing system written in ASP.NET and C#
-Allows for creation of tickets via email (required for me), web, and there is a limited API for third party integration.
-Cool add-on screen-shot program
-MS SQL backend, so it's familiar territory for me.
-Customizable via CSS and some configuration options.

  • Mini-rant [STEVE]
-I agreed to a attend a webinar on a product that I had some interest in last Thursday. The webinar was to be today. Between Thursday afternoon and today, I received no fewer than 10 emails, including five reminders, about the webcast.
-They sent me an appointment. That should be enough, plus at least five other marketing emails toward a product that I was going to be seeing an advertisement for was excessive. Are they trying to drive away customers?
-I've attended other product demos via webcasts, and they have not been so annoying, and most don't even email me anymore, if I decided to go with another product.

Paul Sylvester

P.s. You might want to add a personal message to the skype voice mail, it would help users feel they used the right skype name!!
