-The PowerShell team has released the next iteration of PowerShell V2. It is still in CTP (community technology preview), so there could be more changes before it gets to beta, but I think that it is pretty close. I haven't spent much time with the two previous versions of the CTP, but I'm going to start using it now, so I can be ready for V2 when it releases.
-The PowerShell team did note in the release that it is a CTP, but they are eager for people to start using it and providing feedback.
-The PowerShell team has also been very busing and has posted a number of examples (over 10) of features in CTP3?.
-NetCmdlets? V2 / PowerShell Server
-If you tried the NetCmdlets? before, you'll want to check out the new version. The NetCmdlets? were one of the first, if not the first, third party cmdlets available for PowerShell, and they showed it. While being very useful, they had some limitations when used in a pipeline. Well, that has been corrected. They've implemented a number of commonly used features like parameter sets, which provide you more options when calling a cmdlet.
-Also released was PowerShell Server. PowerShell Server allows SSH access to a PowerShell prompt at the most basic level. There are greater advantages when using the SSH cmdlets included. Those commands can return serialized objects.
-PowerGUI? PowerPack? 2.0 for VMWare
-The VMWare PowerShell tools have seen a large amount of interest and Kirk Munro (who recently completed a very extensive Hyper-V PowerPack?), has released the VMWare Infrastructure PowerPack? Version 2. He restructured a lot of in and included a lot of new functionality. The awesome thing about this is these PowerPacks? for PowerGUI? are FREE. So PowerGUI? plus the PowerPacks? are FREE.

  • Windows Update Problem [KEITH]
-One PC refusing to update. Error indicates Decrypt failed.
-Crypto svc missing from list of services. Ran SFC as suggested in troubleshooting article, but it came up clean.
-Re-registered DLL's, but didn't work.
-Finally found a reg key online to add the crypto service back. After reboot, it's been fine.

SFC [/SCANNOW ) (/SCANONCE) (/SCANBOOT) (/REVERT) (/PURGECACHE)(/CACHESISE=x) /SCANNOW Scans all protected system files immediately. /SCANONCE Scans all protected system files once at the next boot. /SCANBOOT Scans all protected system files at every boot. /REVERT Return scan to default setting. /PURGECACHE Purges the file cache. /CACHESIZE=x Sets the file cache size.

-Rebuilt x64 Vista box after HDD crash. Bought a new SATA drive. Notice Vista Power settings not very friendly on a base install. It basically never shut down.
